Georgia truck driver arrested on drug charges, accused of driving while intoxicated

INDIANA — A Georgia truck driver is facing multiple charges after authorities say he was driving his semi-truck while intoxicated.

Troopers in Indiana pulled over James Robert Whitlock on Interstate 65 on Friday after 911 callers reported his erratic driving to authorities.

As the trooper interviewed Whitlock, he said he observed suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia in plain sight within the cab of the truck.

The trooper said he tried to wake a woman co-driver in the sleeper portion of the semi but she was unresponsive. Troopers and other responding units attempted to use Narcan on Alicia Ann Galylor, but she was able to wake up.

Authorities later found two handguns, alcohol and marijuana in Whitlock’s possession.

Whitlock, 56, was charged with operating while intoxicated, possession of a handgun with a prior felony, possession of methamphetamine and other charges.

Gaylor, 29, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Both were taken to the Clark County Jail.
