GDOT warns of weekend roadwork in metro Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. — The Georgia Department of Transportation will be closing lanes this weekend on I-285 eastbound from Roswell Road to Ashford Dunwoody Road for roadwork.

GDOT officials don’t expect major backups, but advise drivers to slow down through the work zone and to stay alert.

Drivers in the Buford Highway/Lenox Road area should be aware that many of the surface streets in that area will have lane closures for work related to the I-85/State Route 400 Interchange project.

Drivers in downtown Atlanta should be aware that various sections of the HOV lanes on I-75 northbound will be closed all weekend from State Route 166 to Mount Paran Road.

Additionally, single-lane closures will be in place in various locations around I-285, on I-75 and on I-20 for drain cleaning and shoulder sweeping.
