Two Fulton County courts have been recognized as Model Courts by the Council of Accountability Court Judges.
Officials said the Behavioral Health Treatment Court and the Recovery Treatment Court received the honor after years of strong performance.
The recognition highlighted best practices, participant outcomes and operations, as well as collaboration and accountability.

“No court earns this honor alone. It represents the dedication of staff, partners and community providers who work together every day to support participants and uphold the values of accountability and compassion,” Fulton County Chief Judge Ural Glanville said.
The Veterans Treatment Court became the first North Fulton County Accountability Court to earn Model Court distinction in 2024.
John Collins, who oversees North Fulton County Accountability Court, said the recognition reflects the dedication of the judges, staff and partners who make the programs successful.
Officials said the designation means the courts met or exceeded the council’s standards.
The Model Court status will help guide new courts around Georgia by serving as mentors, sharing materials, answering questions and allowing site visits.
“Strong accountability courts make communities safer. This recognition signals that we are delivering effective, evidence-based responses that reduce recidivism, support recovery and strengthen North Fulton County,” Glanville said.
