Family turns old barn into magical venue for teen’s prom

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — The coronavirus may have stolen Camri’s prom, but her family took it back.

The teen from Carroll County originally took the news that her senior prom was canceled fine at first, but when the date of the prom came around, her mother said she had a “meltdown.”

So her family wanted to do something to cheer her up.

Camri’s prom dress had been hanging in her room for months, which gave her sister the idea to come up with a “faux” prom.

So over the weekend, the teen’s family decorated their old barn with string lights, balloons, food, music and of course a dance floor.

Camri’s family told her that they were giving her a prom photoshoot, so she needed to get all dressed up. While they were taking photos, her close friends showed up and surprised her. She hadn’t seen them in weeks.

They then had the big reveal of the barn where the teens got to have their final prom.

Her mother wrote that she hated that Camri’s senior year had been turned upside down and that they’re trying to make the best of things.
