GILMER COUNTY, Ga. — A close call for a truck driver ended with crews rescuing him from a tractor-trailer.
Gilmer County sheriff’s deputies say they were called to an accident on Hwy. 136 near the Pickens County line on Wednesday afternoon.

The tractor-trailer had gone off the highway and rolled down the embankment before stopping on its side.
Deputies say the driver was pinned in the truck, but crews were able to rescue him without any life threatening injuries.

The driver was still taken to the hospital by a helicopter after the crash.
What led up to the crash is under investigation.
