DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an unusual burglary at their office this week.
Four ‘furry, pint-sized’ raccoons made their way into the DCSO building on Tuesday.
“The two alleged bandits, AKA “Earl” and “Lee,” will be sentenced to a few weeks “rest and rehab” at a much more racoon-friendly environment and will be looked after by animal rehabilitators. We fully expect them to “bail out” of the rehab location before the end of the summer. A third suspect, possibly named “Rocket”, and the ring leader, believed to go by the name “Ma,” are still fugitives,” the department wrote in a Facebook post.

The department joked that they offered the raccoons peanuts in exchange for more information, but they refused to talk.
The two raccoons that were captured were taken to ‘animal rehabilitation,’ according to deputies.
Thankfully, the department said no staff members were injured during the ordeal.
