DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — One year after Ana Scott was shot and killed outside her Decatur home, her family is speaking publicly for the first time, hoping renewed attention will help investigators find the remaining people responsible for her death.
Scott was killed on Sept. 20, 2025, after seeing suspected burglars at her home through her Ring doorbell camera while she was at work.
According to investigators, Scott received an alert on her phone, opened the camera app and saw people trying to break into her home. Family members say she immediately drove home in an effort to stop the burglary.

When she arrived, police say the suspects opened fire, killing her.
Police have arrested and charged one man in connection with the killing. However, investigators believe at least two other suspected burglars were involved and have not yet been arrested.
What makes that especially difficult for the family is that much of the crime was captured on video.
