BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — Brookhaven police teamed up with the Department of Homeland Security’s Investigation team to arrest six people on prostitution charges at three area massage parlors July 22.

Police say their undercover investigation was prompted by complaints from the local community.

According to police Chief Gary Yandura, the objective was to identify and rescue potential victims of sex trafficking, identify and arrest anyone involved with possible pimping and prostitution, and end what they called criminal pandering of sexual services at businesses in Brookhaven.

“Operations like this one are critical to deterring sex trafficking and to ensuring that massage parlor staff and customers can be free of unwanted prostitution and pandering,” Yandura said.

Brookhaven police listed the businesses impacted:

  • Sauna One: 2589 Buford Highway, Brookhaven
    • One arrest for Keeping a Place of Prostitution
    • One arrest for Prostitution
  • Orange Spa: 2901 Buford Highway, Brookhaven
    • One arrest for Keeping a Place of Prostitution and Operating Without a License to Massage
    • One arrest for Prostitution
    • One arrest for Operating Without a License to Massage
  • T Massage: 3253 Buford Highway, Brookhaven
    • One arrest for Prostitution and Operating Without a License to Massage
    • Two citations for Operating Without a License to Massage

All six arrested suspects were taken to the DeKalb County Jail and their cases will be heard in Brookhaven’s Municipal Court.
