79-year-old man arrested in connection to shooting in busy Kroger parking lot

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — A 79-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 75-year-old man in a busy Kroger parking lot.

The shooting happened on March 22 around 10 a.m. when the shopping center was full of people.

Brookhaven police said they arrested Vesselin G. Tzvetkov, 79, on Wednesday in the area of E Club Drive in Brookhaven.

Police said they were able to identify the man after releasing photos and videos last week, asking for help figuring out who the shooter was.

Tzvetkov is being charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He is currently being held at the DeKalb County Jail without bond.

At last check, the 75-year-old victim was expected to be OK.
