People across metro Atlanta teamed up to save the holidays after some Grinches tried to ruin people’s holiday cheer.
In Henry County, someone cut down a tree and stolen a generator that was used at Alexander Park West to power a lights display.
McDonough mayor-elect Sandra Vincent won’t lose her Christmas spirit even after a thief did their best to steal Christmas joy.
“We decided what we would do is not allow this to be a damper on what we’ve been trying to create,” she told Channel 2′s Matt Johnson.

Determined to not let this Grinch win, Vincent said she rounded up her son to play Santa. Other volunteers joined to spread the joy.
They personally delivered some toys that were donated and brought them to families who couldn’t pick them up.
“Knocking on doors in communities where we felt that there may have been disparities in relation to transportation,” she said.
