Victim falls 30 feet down narrow crack in parking garage at the Battery

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The Marietta fire department was able to rescue a person who fell 20-30 feet down crack in a parking garage at the battery early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 1 a.m. at the Yellow deck.

The opening was just two feet wide.

A photo posted to social media shows the patient lying sideways in the narrow crack surrounded by three first responders.

“The crews were able to access the 2ft opening, stabilize the patient, administer pain medication, and create a rescue harness to extricate to an awaiting Metro Atlanta Ambulance,” firefighters said.

The identity and condition of the victim have not been released.

It’s unclear why there is an opening in the parking garage or what part of the garage it is in.
