COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A massive sinkhole that caused delays along I-285 on Friday has now been fixed and reopened to traffic.
The sinkhole appeared in the area of I-285 northbound ramp to Cobb Parkway and left three lanes of traffic blocked.

Crews have since repaired the hole and traffic can now flow freely as it once did.
It remains unclear what caused the road to collapse.

This was the first of two massive sinkholes to appear in the metro Atlanta area in less than 48 hours.
A second sinkhole appeared at the intersection of Old Fountain Road and Prospect Road in Gwinnett County on Sunday.
