ATLANTA — Two metro Atlanta teens have won the highest award in scouting, and they happen to be brother and sister.
Channel 2′s Berndt Petersen spoke to the two teens, Ian and Ella Greenbaum, who spoke about obtaining this honor.
“I think being a role model is just stepping up to the occasion, no matter what it is,” Ian said.
Ian has been stepping up for 10 years since he first became a scout. He just earned one of Scouts BSA’s highest honors.
“It’s just mind-blowing that I’d be in the same sentence as him,” Ian said.

The Hank Aaron Role Model Award is reserved for the very best.
Ian won it in 2023. His sister Ella in 2022. Clearly runs in the family.
“We actually have an older brother who was a scout who led the way for both of us. So role model, role model,” Ella said.
