ATLANTA — Patients had to evacuate Emory University Hospital Midtown on Tuesday after a fire broke out in an elevator.
Atlanta Fire Rescue said at around 7 pm last night firefighters temporarily evacuated the building, including 20 critical patients.
Firefighters forced open the elevator’s control panel and used a dry chemical to extinguish the fire.

They say electrical wires sparked the fire.
No one was injured.
After firefighters ventilated the building to remove the smoke, patients were cleared to return.
