A former soldier from Atlanta has been sentenced to life in prison for physically and sexually abusing two children.
In April, Adam Schuleter, 40, was convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 12 and two counts of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
Prosecutors say that between 2009 and 2013 while stationed in Germany, Schuleter abused two children, including choking and beating them.

When one victim was 8, Schuleter pushed her through a second-story window and let her dangle above the ground.
Both children were also sexually assaulted before the age of 10.

Prosecutors say he also used threats of pain and death to stop his victims from telling authorities.
In 2014, Schuleter was discharged from the U.S. Army under Other Than Honorable conditions after they learned of his then-alleged abuse.
