ATLANTA — Twenty years ago, a southwest Atlanta woman disappeared shortly after a trip to Greenbriar Mall, and hasn’t been heard from since.
“I knew something was wrong. I just had a gut feeling something was wrong,” Tonjala Harris, Artdrunetta Hobbs’ mother, told Channel 2’s Michael Doudna.
On August 10, 2006, the 23-year-old went to Greenbriar Mall with friends. Shortly after she left, police believe she was kidnapped and murdered.

Authorities later found her car burned. However, in 20 years, no one has ever been convicted of her murder.
“I just hope that I will find my daughter. Even if I just find her remains, I just got hope. I gotta have a little bit of hope, but that’s what keeps me going,” Harris said.
That hope has kept a mother going for 20 years. She and volunteers searched parks and now pray that someone may come forward with a tip that could lead to closure.

“Would you please give me some peace? Let me tell you where my baby is at,” Harris said. “I would like to bury her even if I don’t get justice, just to give her a proper burial that every human being deserves.”
Police previously told Channel 2 Action News that they believe one of the people responsible died in prison for another crime. However, no one has ever been convicted of her death.
