Strong storms that moved across Georgia on Wednesday spawned seven tornadoes and left a trail of downed trees and property damage, the National Weather Service has confirmed.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz reports five tornadoes touched down in north Georgia and two more touched down in middle Georgia. At least four homes were damaged by falling trees across the state.

Whitfiled County:
An EF-1 tornado touched down in Whitfield County about 4 miles northeast of Dalton along Highway 71 around 9:45 am. Numerous trees were uprooted or felled. At least two trees fell on homes in Dalton, and a camper was blown 20 feet from where it originally stood. Maximum winds were estimated at around 90 mph.

Toombs County:
A second EF-1 tornado damaged roofs and uprooted trees in Vidalia on Wednesday night just after 11 p.m. Several businesses reported roof damage, including a Shoney's. A large flagpole outside a gun shop was bent by the 95 mph winds.
Gordon County:
Two separate EF-0 tornadoes caused minor damage in Gordon County near Resaca around 10:50 a.m. Both downed trees, snapped large limbs and caused minor property damage.
Laurens County:
An EF-0 tornado in Laurens downed up to 40 trees and caused minor damage to a mobile home and small metal carport.
Fannin County:
A brief EF-0 tornado touched down near Blue Ridge and snapped several large trees at 11:45 a.m.
Gilmer County:
An EF-0 tornado touched down at 11:16 a.m near Ellijay and snapped several large trees.
