JACKSON COUNTY, Ga.,None — The Federal Aviation Administration said one person died in an experimental aircraft crash Sunday morning.
The aircraft took off from the Jackson County Airport around 11:30 a.m., but only made it about 450 feet in the air before it lost power, Jackson County officials said. The replica-type plane was being taken up for testing.
The identity of the victim is not yet known.
According to the resistration information released by the FAA, the plane was a fixed wing single-engine built in 1972.
