KENNESSAW, Ga.,None — An investigation is under way at Kennesaw State University after a woman was found dead near a campus parking deck.
Channel 2 Action News reporter Ross Cavitt described the deck as nine stories tall and said the woman's body was discovered at the base of the deck at about 8 a.m. Monday.
The deck is located near Frey Road. It was the first Monday back following spring break.
Authorities have not released the victim's name. Dr. Lendley Black, vice president for academic affairs, said it appears that the victim is a student. But it is unclear how the woman died.
The school sent out an e-mail to students Monday about the incident, but did not activate a campus-wide alert. Counselors were brought in to help students.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting because the incident happened on a state campus.
