CHATSWORTH, Ga. — A rare bat that hasn’t been seen in Georgia in a long time was spotted again recently.
The Southeastern Bat Diversity Network held their “Bat Blitz” last week at Fort Mountain State Park in north Georgia.
During the event, biologists were able to catch a Northern Long-Eared Bat, which is a federally endangered species.

It was the first time that biologists have seen the species in Georgia in seven years.
