Joint operation between GA sheriff’s offices leads to arrest of convicted felon

HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. — A joint operation between Georgia sheriff’s departments led to the arrest and confiscation of drugs this week.

On Monday, the Haralson Crime Suppression Unit, Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force, Bremen Police Department Crime Suppression Unit, Paulding County Crime Suppression and Paulding County K9 Unit was conducted across Haralson County, officials say.

During the operation, Sgt. Terry McAdams attempted to stop a silver Ford Focus failing to maintain its lane on John Golden Road in Draketown.

When the car finally stopped, the driver, Corey Cash fled the scene on foot. Sgt. McAdams and Lt. Kilgore with PCSO caught Cash after a short foot chase. The passenger in the Ford Focus was detained and deputies searched the vehicle.

Cash, a 35-year-old white man from Buchanan, Georgia was arrested and charged with driving while license was suspended, failure to maintain lane, possession of drug related objects, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of a schedule 1 drug, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
