MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — Three Atlanta residents are facing charges linked to multiple identity theft cases.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has secured warrants for Demonte Garrett, Derrian Styles and Keyon McCrary, all of Atlanta.
On Thursday, Monroe County officials were contacted by the Atlanta Police Department. According to APD, officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered over 200 fraudulent checks created using Monroe County residents’ account information.

Authorities said the checks were stolen from the Forsyth Post Office drop box.
The trio will be transferred to the Monroe County Jail after they have satisfied the charges in Atlanta.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office asks residents to not use the outside drop box at post offices when dropping off mail containing personal information or checks.
