Driving without headlights leads to DUI, drug charges in Athens

ATHENS, Ga. — A traffic stop that began when police officers saw a car driving with no headlights on ended with a DUI and drug charges in Athens.

Athens-Clarke County police officers spotted the car driving without headlights on Milledge Avenue and pulled the driver over.

Officers found that the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and arrested them.

During a search of the vehicle, police found approximately 5 ounces of “white powder,” a gun, scales, and cash.

Police did not identify the driver.
