Atlanta Underground Market a delicious secret

ATLANTA — Atlanta has a wonderful secret.  Every month foodies get together to enjoy great cuisine.

Yohana Solomon manages a group called the Atlanta Underground Market.

Solomon describes the event as “Beautiful food, wonderful food and great home cooks," she told WSBTV.com's Denise Bailey. " We have such great talents and it’s a great opportunity for anybody to try new cuisine.”

Creative home cooks get a chance to showcase their best dishes.  It’s a member’s only event for guests, but membership is free.  Patrons are emailed the secret location just days before the event.

Chefs like Clea McKinney use the Market for exposure and she lets her food do the talking.

She says her specialty is your down home country goodness bundt cake.  It’s pound cake flavor-infused and it doesn’t need frosting.

Darilyn May is a personal chef turning soul comfort food into healthy food and loves the opportunity to meet other new up and coming entrepreneurs.

Craft vendors also display their talents.  Guests can find jewelry, juices, artwork and beauty products for sale.

There is a small fee for guests to attend the market and dishes range from one dollar to five dollars.
