PAULDING COUNTY, Ga.,None — Paulding County Sheriff's Office authorities arrested a 61-year-old Acworth man on sexual exploitation charges.
Police said Richard Gibson, 61, turned himself in to the Paulding County Detention Center on Thursday.
Officials charged Gibson with 20 counts of exploitation of children after authorities said he had child pornography and was distributing it.
Detectives with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children Unit served a search warrant at Gibson's home on Aug. 19 as a result of a cyber tip that was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Several computers and other electronic items with digital storage capacity were seized during the search, police said.
Detectives said they found 169 images of known or suspected child pornography on the computers. There were at least 20 images of children that were approximately 12 years old or younger, according to police.
Gibson was held without bond pending his first court appearance on Friday.
