MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga.,None — A Georgia man killed an 800-pound alligator Wednesday near Fort Benning in the Chattahoochee River, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.

The 11-foot gator still had part of a large pig in its mouth when it was shot by a local gator hunter, the Franklin police chief told Channel 2.
The hunter loaded the gator onto the back of his pick-up truck and drove it back to Heard County, where he lives.
It is unknown what plans the hunter has for the gator.
