LILBURN, Ga. — Police said a Lilburn resident exchanged gunfire with four armed intruders during a home invasion.
Lilburn police spokesman Capt. Bruce Hedley said four men, armed with a rifle and handguns, kicked in the front door of the home, Tuesday morning in the 600 block of Harvard Drive.
Three people inside the home were tied up, while another escaped, Hedley said.
The intruders beat the victims with a blunt object and took their money and credit cards, Hedley said.
Hedley said the person who escaped later returned with a handgun and opened fire on the suspects.
Investigators said multiple rounds were fired from at least three different weapons, Hedley said.
The intruders fled the house in what police believe was a dark-colored SUV and a silver Mercury Grand Marquis car.
No serious injuries were reported during the incident.
