INDIANA — It was a moment that Lester Townsend will never forget.
He is just two generations away from slavery, and last week, he met the country's first African-American president.
The White House posted video on their YouTube page of a meeting between the President and the centenarian.
Townsend, with a wide grin on his face, told President Barack Obama, "The grandson of a slave, shaking the hand of the president of the United States."
Pres. Obama joked with Townsend saying, "No, you're lying about your age."
Townsend said he thought he would never live to see an African-American president, and Pres. Obama responded the honor was all his.
