MCRAE, Ga. — One person was killed and another person injured after a single-engine plane crash in McRae, Ga., in Telfair County, officials confirmed.
The crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday as the plane prepared to approach the Telfair-Wheeler Airport, investigators said.
Officials said the crash killed 60-year-old Daniel Joseph Marnell of Douglasville; 63-year-old Tommy Vance survived.
Authorities said the Cessna182 was flying from West Georgia Regional Airport in Carrollton to McRae. Marnell and Vance were the only two people aboard.
An FAA spokeswoman said the crash is under investigation.
