Rent an igloo in Atlanta

Perched atop the tallest brick building in the South, The Roof at Ponce City Market is transforming into a winter dreamland, featuring a 3,500-square-foot ice skating rink, six private igloos, and over-the-top décor perfect for Instagrammable moments, beginning on November 27.

Skate the Sky will offer guests the chance to enjoy ice skating amongst the clouds as The Roof transforms its Rooftop Terrace located 10 stories above the city overlooking the Atlanta BeltLine and Old 4th Ward. Every Saturday and Sunday, guests can experience family hours from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. During this time, visitors can skate and sing with The Roof’s resident Ice Queen. In addition, visitors that are 21 and over will be able to dance the night away to music spun by local DJs on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 8 pm. Skaters must be at least five years of age to skate and individuals under 12 must be accompanied by an adult skater.

During this holiday season, The Roof is also expanding its popular igloo experience. These cozy, private igloos seat up to six guests, allowing small groups to have an intimate and safe social distant experience with an amazing view. Food and beverage (specialty hot cocktails, champagne and large format cocktails) options will also be available so guests can get the most of their two-hour reservation. Pricing for the igloo experience is $175.

The igloo experiences will also be available at 9 Mile Station this year. The restaurant will transform into a woodland forest with cozy outdoor seating areas overlooking the best views of Atlanta and guests will be able to reserve igloos for dinner service. All igloos will be sanitized manually and with fogging technology between occupants. Pricing for the 2.5-hour 9 Mile igloo experience is $125 Sunday through Thursday and $175 on Fridays and Saturdays.

“We are thrilled about the expansion of The Roof’s igloo experience at a time when everyone is looking for safe, socially distant activities to enjoy,” said Slater Hospitality Co-owner Mandy Slater. “We hope that our expanded offering and commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of our guests will help them create lasting memories and provide a sense of normalcy during this time.”

Skate the Sky admission is $15 for adults and $7 for children, and also includes access to Skyline Park and fur coat golf (when available).

The safety of Roof guests, employees, and community is a top priority. Therefore, the team is taking extra care and precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
