New Disney immersive experience arrives in Atlanta, brings Disney movies to life

ATLANTA — Step inside “The Lion King,” “Frozen,” “Aladdin,” and numerous other Disney movies at an all-new experience in Atlanta.

Immersive Disney Animation recently opened at the Armour Yards district. Families can now experience all of the nostalgia and magic of their favorite Disney movies—from classics like Pinocchio and Cinderella to recent hits like Encanto and Frozen—as the characters and artistry come to life before their eyes through sound, special effects, and wall and floor projections.

The experience was developed as a collaboration with Walt Disney Animation Studios and Lighthouse Immersive, the team behind the popular Immersive Van Gogh exhibition that recently swept across North America. Lighthouse Immersive was given unparalleled access to the Disney archives to create a mesmerizing experience that allows audiences to step directly into the films they love.

It includes 86,500 frames of video, 220,000 cubic feet of projections, and 105 million pixels.

In addition to the massive screens that bring the movies to life, visitors can step inside the Walt Disney Animation Studios to learn about the art of storytelling, how animators use storyboards and effects, and see some original drawings of Disney’s most popular characters.

Tickets start at $28 per person. The immersive experience lasts about an hour, and guests can tour the animation studios before the experience starts and browse the gift shop afterward.
