Cold front brings showers ahead of fall-like temperatures

ATLANTA — Tuesday Forecast

The first of two cold fronts moved across north Georgia Tuesday afternoon, bringing isolated showers.

Severe Weather Team 2 says afternoon showers moving into metro Atlanta could also include a rumble of thunder.

Over the next 24 hours, the front will move across the area ushering in drier air to north Georgia.

It will be warm and humid Tuesday, but not as hot as Monday. Highs will average in the mid-80s.

Looking ahead

As we move into Wednesday, expect drier air to move in as temperatures drop into the low 80s for afternoon highs.

A secondary front will move through Wednesday night into Thursday with some clouds and possible showers in the mountains.

The front will bring much cooler air Thursday and Friday with highs in the low-to-mid 70s.

A gentle warming trend will take us into the weekend with temperatures pushing into the upper-70s Saturday and low-80s Sunday.
