Wine On Tap This Weekend In Dahlonega

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Wine is on tap this weekend in Dahlonega.

The 2010 Georgia Wine Country Festival at Three Sisters Vineyards will feature two days of wine tastings from Georgia wineries. The event will include live music, wagon rides from Gold City Corral, and exhibitions from local arts and craft vendors, resorts and restaurants.

This is the ninth year of the festival. Seven different Georgia wineries will be in attendance.

The festival runs from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets at the gate are $20 and include wine tastings from all wineries, a keepsake wineglass.

And the Georgia Wine Country Festival isn't the only wine event in the area.

The Georgia Fine Wine Festival happens this weekend too. It features 50 different Georgia wines, including varieties from Blackstock, Frogtown Cellars, and Wolf Mountain Vineyards. Local restaurants will be on site for culinary tastings, and the Kit Dockery Jazz Quartet will headline the weekend at Blackstock Vineyards and Winery.

The event is from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $35 for one day, $50 for both days.
