ATLANTA,None — A pregnant woman shot with an AK-47 is talking for the first time to Channel 2 Action News reporter Ryan Young.
Tedra Jordan underwent surgery Wednesday and told Young that the road to recovery will be difficult. Not only did the shooting force her to give birth to her twins early, but her boyfriend, 19-year-old La'deddric Love, was also killed in the shooting outside a Texaco gas station in southwest Atlanta on Monday.
"How are you doing?" Young asked.
"I'm just feeling tired, ... trying to make it. I'm making it, but I'm hurt," Jordan said.
Jordan spoke to Young from her room at Grady Memorial Hospital. She is recovering in the intensive care unit. The shooting left her with a bullet lodged in her hip, Jordan said.
The 19-year-old told Young that she had to give birth to her twins three months early, but said she and the babies are stable right now.
"If they would have taken the bullet out, they would have had to do a lot, so they put 3 screws in my hip," said Jordan.
Surveillance video showed a man in a tank top get out of a Honda Civic and open fire on a vehicle where Jordan, her two kids and boyfriend were all inside.
"I believe he seen who the shooter was because he was standing outside the car. Only thing I know that all the sudden bullets started flying everywhere. I didn't know he was hit because I didn't see no blood or nothing when he jumped in the car," said Jordan.
Jordon told Young that she is angry and wants the killer caught.
"I'm just like out of my mind. I really can't believe what's going on right now. I really just don't believe it. It's unbelievable to me," said Jordan.
"I never thought in a million years I'd go through something like that," said Jordan.
