ATLANTA — The adults are coming! The adults are coming!
Teens across the world are sounding the alarm after a new report shows that adults are invading the widely popular app, Snapchat.
According to CNN Money, about 38 percent of U.S. mobile users between the ages of 25 and 34 used Snapchat at least once in May, a number that has grown from about 19 percent in December 2014.
Even the percentage of "old" people on Snapchat -- those over the age of 35 -- has risen from about 9 percent to 14 percent, CNN said.
So is Snapchat losing its cool for losing its cool - factor?
ComScore's VP of Marketing and Insights Andrew Lipsman told CNN that those concerns are overblown.
"Historically, those concerns about losing core users have been overblown," he told CNNMoney.
Snapchat seems to be OK with the changes – it's currently valued at over $18 billion and has recently expanded its reach by partnering up with established and new publishers, such as ESPN, Buzzfeed, MTV, VICE and others in its "Discover" section.
