ATLANTA — They help teach future generations in becoming doctors, lawyers, and even teachers, too. Now they are being celebrated in a major way.

Fulton County Schools and global nonprofit Soles4Souls are partnering to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.
The event was held at Benjamin Banneker High School in South Fulton County to commend teachers’ exemplary service to students and their families.

About 300 teachers got a chance to take part in a “shopping” event where they get to choose any items at no cost to them.
Some of the items from Thursday’s event were donated by some high-end retail brands.
