CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A woman has filed for legal protection against a Cherokee County deputy accused of harassing her on social media.

Natasha Lopez filed a petition for a temporary protective order against Cherokee County Cpl. Charles Mills, who is under investigation and on administrative leave in connection with the claims.
Channel 2’s Ashlynn Webb reported that authorities said Mills created an anonymous Facebook page that Lopez claims was used to harass and target her.

The anonymous Facebook page Lopez shared contained personal information about her family and posted AI-generated content about her online after she challenged her arrest by Mills in August 2025.
The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to conduct an independent investigation.
