DALTON, Ga. — Multiple massage parlors and spas were targeted in a prostitution and human trafficking raid in north Georgia.
Several local, state and federal agencies participated in the operation, leading to several arrests.
According to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, which worked with Dalton police on the operation, spas and parlors were targeted as part of an ongoing Safe Streets Task Force mission involving the FBI and GBI.

Dalton Police Chief told the community at a post-operation briefing that “We listened to you, we’ve heard you and we acted.”
Whitfield County Sheriff Darren Pierce said multiple complaints had come in to local officials from residents about the spas raided by officers and deputies.

Frazier confirmed at least 11 people were arrested in the operation but a final number was not immediately available.
ABC affiliate WTVC reported from the arrest scene, where multiple men and women were handcuffed, sitting on a curb.
“This has been several months in the making,” Pierce told WTVC.
Andrick Carlos, who owns nearby restaurant Los Carnales with his mother, told WTVC that the traffic in and out of nearby Summer Massage was odd.
“I’ll be honest...something weird what they happen over there, you know, like they have a lot of customers over there,” Carlos said. “I cannot say I’m like impressed, you know, about the operation, but it’s good for the people like the town, though. They make like this to be safe for all people.”
The Tuesday morning raid, while focused on possible sex trafficking and prostitution, did not lead to arrests for trafficking.
WTVC reported in an update on Wednesday that all 11 people confirmed as arrested from the operation do not face sex trafficking charges.
