WARRINGTON, Penn. – A teen with Down syndrome sprinted with joy when he was crowned Homecoming King.

Nick McGee and Lily Bowman were both crowned as king and queen at their high school last Friday night at their Warrington, Pennsylvania high school. Lily also has Down syndrome.

They’re both very popular at their high school, so no one was particularly surprised when they were crowned. But everyone was thrilled with McGee’s reaction, breaking out in thunderous cheers.

Video shows Nick sprinting toward his classmates in the stands, then leading them in his favorite cheer.

"It was pure joy and it was pure Nick," Nick's mom, Kim McGee told WPVI.
