ATLANTA — The Contemporary Baseball Era Committee unveiled which former managers and executive nominees are on its ballot for the Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2027.
The ballot includes media mogul and former Atlanta Braves owner Ted Turner, who died earlier this year at the age of 87.

Turner purchased the Braves in 1976. That same year, Turner started broadcasting Braves games on what eventually became known as the WTBS Super Station. Within a few years, millions of homes could watch every Braves game on WTBS and Atlanta became America’s Team.
He even managed a game for the Braves in 1977.
The Contemporary Baseball Era Committee will meet on Sunday, Dec. 6 and announce the results later that night. A candidate must have votes on 75% of the ballots to be elected.
Anyone elected will be inducted into Cooperstown on July 25, 2027, along with the 2027 Baseball Writers’ Association of America class that’s announced in January.
The other nominees include: Sandy Alderson, Dusty Baker, Bruce Bochy, Joe Maddon, Lou Piniella, Brian Sabean and Bill White.
Baker played for the Atlanta Braves from 1968-1975 and was in the on-deck circle the night Hank Aaron hit his record-breaking 715th home run. He is being considered on the ballot for his managerial career, which includes a 2022 World Series title with the Houston Astros.
