ATLANTA — Officers are investigating a stabbing near an Atlanta Kroger. And Atlanta police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that the victim has died.

Police responded to 725 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE on a stabbing call Sunday afternoon.
The location is near the Beltline’s Eastside Trail.

A Channel 2 photographer captured images of crime scene tape up an a location outdoors and a large police presence at the scene.
Police said the victim, who hasn’t been identified, died of their injuries at the hospital.
A possible suspect has been detained. The investigation is ongoing.
