VIDEO: Thief rips security system from wall during burglary

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating a burglary caught on video at a home in Union City.

Security cameras captured three burglars rummaging through the home Monday.

The homeowner believes the thieves tried to break in the back door, but when the that didn’t work they busted out a window and came through the front door.

“It’s almost like they’re pros. I don’t think this is their first break-in,” Juanice Woodall said.

Woodall said she and her children were not home during the burglary.

“It was very scary. We were just on Thanksgiving break last week, so I was here all week so anything could have happened,” she said.

Video shows the burglars take several items, including a TV, a video game system and iPads.

Woodall said there was one thing in the video that frightened her the most.

“It appeared that one of the thieves had a gun and that just makes me so uneasy because, you know, I don’t care about material possessions, but I don’t want someone to come and kill me or kill my children,” she said.

The security system alarm went off, but video shows the thieves ripping it off the wall.

The thieves got away before police arrived. Woodall hopes the video will help police find them.

“It’s not fair to regular people that you have to live in fear that one day you may come home to a burglar who has no regard for your life,” she said.
