CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Part of a busy Cherokee County intersection is shut down down after a crash involving a van and Cherokee County Schools bus.

Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields reports the crash happened on Main Street near Highway 92 in Woodstock. Traffic Tracker 2 cameras show the crash investigation has shut down the northbound side of Main Street and a right lane on Highway 92.

It appears that a van crashed into the back of the school bus. The district says there were 20 Woodstock Elementary School students and a driver on the bus. They are all safe.
In a letter to parents, Woodstock Elementary Principal Clatrina Lane says the school will have counselors and an additional school nurse to support the students if needed.
Channel 2 Action News has reached out to Woodstock Police to confirm if anyone in the van was seriously injured.
Shields says drivers should avoid the area with the best alternates as Interstate 575, Bells Ferry Road or Trickum Road.
