20-year-old runs into DeKalb Ross store for help after being shot multiple times, police say

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A 20-year-old ran into a Ross Dress for Less store for help after he was shot in the parking lot. Customers said they hid in the bathroom after witnessing the gunfire.

Shots rang out near the retail store off N. Decatur Road around closing time.

Police said it initially received a call about a person firing off gunshots outside the Comet Pub and Lanes, which shares a parking lot with the store.

Customers at Ross told WSB Tonight at 11 p.m. that they had to dodge several bullets by crawling on the floor.

“All I saw was black, and I saw the bullets flying. I didn’t know it sparks like that. I have never been that close to bullets before,” said Franchesca Casiano.

Casiano told Channel 2 that she and the other customers hid in the bathroom when a man came inside begging for help.

“One of the guys ran in the store into the bathroom where we were hiding and was bleeding out in there,” she said. “We helped put pressure on his wound...in the back of the store.”
