SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Sandy Springs police are investigating attacks targeting pizza delivery and taxi drivers.
Ramiz Sedjin told Channel 2 Action News and Telemundo Atlanta that he was called to an address on Northwood Drive last week, but when he arrived, he realized that the address wasn’t legitimate.
“They called Domino's Pizza and my manager took order and put in the system,” he said.
When Sedjin turned to get back into his car, he said two men jumped out of the bushes and attacked him.
“(They) hit me there,” he said, pointing to the back of his head. “I dropped my bag."
Sedjin required stitches to his head after the men struck him with a gun.
“You never know what's going to happen,” he said.
Sandy Springs police told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik that they believe the attack on Sedjin is related to a similar one targeting a taxicab driver called to an address on Roswell Road later the same night.
“M.O. is pretty similar, (the) description is pretty similar, so we're pretty sure they're probably connected,” Sgt. Ron Momon said.
Momon said police are warning service drivers to be more careful.
"Just be vigilant,” he said.
