ROSWELL, Ga. — UPDATE:
According to The Fulton County Health Department, Philly Connection in Roswell passed their re-inspection with a score of 100.
The manager at Philly Connection on Mansell Road in Roswell insists he’s addressed the problems that caused his restaurant to fail its latest health inspection.
However, when Channel 2 Action News arrived at the restaurant, we noticed another potential violation.
Restaurants are required to post their most recent health inspection score. We noticed a report on the wall with a score of 98 from 2010 and showed him the latest report with a score of 58.
After being confronted, the manager took down the report and told us his real score is a 61. He insisted the restaurant is clean and they’ve taken care of the violations.
“Everything too clean, you see,” he said.
Among recent violations, the health inspector says food contact surfaces were in need of sanitation, there was half-cooked chicken above fries in the walk-in refrigerator and a cockroach crawling near the cookware.
“If they were to clean up, I mean I might take, I wanna say, at least a passing grade of B before I go back in there,” one frequent customer said.
The Fulton County Health Department told us the manager was right, the score was a 61, which is still failing. The 58 on the report was a calculation error.
The restaurant is scheduled for re-inspection on Thursday.
