UPDATE: One man dead after being shot while riding his bike in Rockdale County

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — A man has died several days after being shot while riding his bicycle in Rockdale County.

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls of a person down at the intersection of Golfview Drive and Salem Road just after 4:45 a.m. Monday.

Deputies said the man, later identified as Kelvin D. Battle, 34, of Covington, had been shot several times. He was taken to the hospital in “serious condition.” Authorities confirmed Wednesday that Battle had died from his injuries.

Authorities say they have not yet identified any suspects.
