Pregnant woman, baby die after Acworth crash

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A 26-year-old pregnant woman and her unborn child died of injuries from a Cherokee County wreck that happened Saturday afternoon.

Cherokee County investigators said Tiffany Robbins, of Acworth, was turning onto Woodstock Road from Victory Drive and pulled into the path of a vehicle traveling north on Woodstock Road.

Investigators said Robbins, who was seven months pregnant, was conscious and alert at the accident scene. She and her 3-year-old daughter, who was restrained in a car seat in the back of the car, had some visible injuries from the wreck and were transported to Kennestone Hospital.

Doctors performed an emergency cesarean section on Robbins, but neither she nor the baby survived. Robbins died of apparent internal injuries.

The driver of the truck that collided with them was not seriously hurt.
