Police: Man spotted in dead man's car arrested

ATLANTA — A man whom police said was spotted driving a dead man's car has been arrested.

Relatives found Donald Singer, 57, dead in his garage in March. Police asked residents to be on the lookout for Robert Craig Sandman, 52, who was seen in the victim's Porsche.

Duluth police told Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh that Sandman is now being held in custody in Sandoval County, N.M. Police said extradition is forthcoming.

It's unclear what charges Sandman is facing.

Channel 2 Action News discovered Sandman was released from prison one day before Singer's death, and Kavanaugh learned he also did prison time for stalking another neighbor on the same street.

His criminal record dates back to the 1990s. The New Mexico Department of Corrections said he served nine years for second-degree murder.
