FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. — An Ohio man faces multiple felony charges after a traffic stopped turned into an attempted attack on Georgia police officers.
According to warrants from the Floyd County Police Department, Kenneth Maurice Cortledge II, of Columbus, Ohio, tried to drive off during a traffic stop after he drove past a stop sign without stopping.
When officers tried to pull him over, he drove away, telling police that “he is CIA and is going to arrest all officers on scene.”

As police chased him, officers said he again failed to stop, this time at a red light, was driving recklessly by swerving in and out of lanes while other cars were in traffic, “almost resulting in multiple wrecks.”
During the chase, he drove at speeds up to 80 mph in a 40 mph zone.
After officers caught up to him and stopped him, a check on Cortledge’s identity showed he was driving on a canceled license, no insurance, nonfunctional tail lights and drugs in the car.
The police report says Cortledge had marijuana in a bag in the car and a meth pipe in the center console.
